Funky Elephant began as a concept to bring beautiful unusual products that are also affordable and high quality to the North East. Started by Su-Fern (Fern) and Peter, who could not find affordable Far East products in Newcastle, their vision is to provide retailers and customers with the enjoyment of beautiful handcrafted products from the Far East. It is not about acquiring a product but an experience - with each product comes a little history and culture of the place where it was made. And we would like to share that with you.

We are slowly expanding our range to meet all needs but currently hold an exclusive collection of bags, scarves, cushion covers, table runners and carefully selected jewellery. In time, we hope to grow the business to provide a wider range of products such as purses, make up bags, incense burners and holders, candle holders, lights, placemats and other personal accessories and soft furnishings. Please do not hesitate to contact us to let us know what floats your goat (i.e. what you would like us to provide!) so that we can meet all your retail needs. As we personally attend to all our buying trips we are able to source for you products that meet your individual tastes and needs.
